Kit Review: Specialized Torch 2.0 Womens Road Shoe

This week I was excited to take delivery of Specialized Torch 2.0 road shoes that I received from Rutland Cycling. I took them out on the road for their first test ride and here is my ‘first look / ride‘ write putting them to the test on the road.

… carbon soled road shoes in white with a single boa dial closure system

The Torch 2.0 are carbon soled road shoes in white with a single boa dial closure system. The upper is made from a mesh material and TPU. These shoes are the white version but also are available in black with green highlights within the Specialized women’s range.

a supportive fitting…

They felt really comfortable, the closure system allowed the shoe to fit close but also feel supple around the foot. I always like for boa dial closures as a feature for cycling shoes, they look good but also work really well so that the shoe fits properly. The flexibility of the upper also helps to really provide a supportive fitting.

Nicely ventilated and so breathable and felt very light weight too…

There is a Velcro strap, but I wondered if this is more for aesthetics as it doesn’t really contribute so much to the overall fitting, the boa dial and wire takes care of that and so this isn’t something that really matters. The padding is quite generous and it has a fitted foot bed which allows for good support. They are nicely ventilated and so breathable and felt very light weight too.

For the price, comfortable, lightweight, rigid sole, breathable, fit nicely and they look good.

A good all round shoe at £150, just In time for some summer riding 🙂

See more here.
